IL MONASTERO is located in the Aragonese Castle of Ischia, overlooking the turquoise waters of the Mediterranean.
It was a convent between the 16th and 18th centuries; today it offers hospitality to travellers who love simplicity and beauty. For many of our guests, IL MONASTERO is a spiritual place where they can dream during the winter months that they want to return to as soon as possible.
THE HISTORY OF IL MONASTEROSituated in the heart of the Gulf of Naples, where you feel as if you're heads are in the clouds and your feet are floating in the sea
IL MONASTERO is 113 metres above sea level on an island of trachytic rock of about 56,000 square metres — the Aragonese Castle — connected to the island of Ischia by a masonry bridge.
The Bay of Sant'Anna - in which the Castle is reflected - offers a convenient mooring for those arriving by boat directly from Naples, Capri or the Amalfi Coast.
